This is killer. Totally different mood. Now instead of goofy and hoppy, it's all cerebral and shit.

I don't think those drums are mine. I don't remember the snare having that crunch to it.

That main bit made my guitar sound like a freaking jazz bass. Or was it the bass? Either way, it got that Evans feel to it.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

:D
Thanks man. And thanks for lettin me use the tracks.

I didn't use your drums or bass, but I think I dropped the main guitar chords an octave or whatever to make it basslike. Drums are all me.

#1's my fav, but I dig the way the clap sounds on 3. Real stompy.

BOULLIE responds:

Yeeesss I wanna make more stuff like number 3

Had this playing while baking some pancakes in honor of Prince. Can confirm, this is good pancake music.

Whatever flaps your jack

I heard this on your soundcloud a year or so ago and totally dug it. It's back on ng now? Cool!

I like the pauses/fermatas/whatever it is the guitars do during the verse. I get hung up on metronomes and forget how nice it is to forget about the tempo sometimes.

Very Elliott Smith quality to the song. Especially the way the guitars were recorded, and the vocals were mixed. Not sure if it's more a Roman Candle vibe or a self-titled. Somewhere in between I think. This didn't happen to be recorded on a cassette machine, did it?

Reeeeeeeeeally like this song. Very pretty.

fearing responds:

Thank you very much mate!! I actually recorded a short EP of tracks like this, after listening to the first two Elliott Smith releases. I just kept everything loose by recording the acoustic guitar main chords with slight whispering of lyrics and then start double tracking and filling in the blanks with vocals and overdubs. It was a fun project, I just wish I could remember how to play this song haha. I think I may have recorded separate tracks onto my cassette deck and then back into my DAW to mix it in stereo again, or maybe it was onto a VHS tape, I don't remember now.

that's the EP I was talking about anyway. Cheers for listening and your feedback again dude.

Sick. I liked when you played the original song at the end (pitched down a bit) so we could kinda hear what you were doing. Sounds like a Tony Croatto record I have lying around. Kinda bossa nova-y, pretty guitar.
The vocals in the beat were really effective. The pitched down effect worked out really well.

BOULLIE responds:

Thanks! I'm getting the hang of this again slowly but surely

Digging this track. I wish I could skate to this in a tony hawk game or something.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

PC with custom soundtracks :D thanks phos

Those vocal samples make it for me. It's the perfect complement to the cold spacey beat. Like, here's the last pocket of warmth in a sad cold chaotic universe filled with debris floating around everywhere.

And like B-RadGfromOV said, very flylo. I dug the cool little drop-ins and drop-outs throughout. All the nifty little things that happen only once in the track.

Ending was sick!

BOULLIE responds:

Thanks Phos! It's the only full beat I've made in what feels like ages

The hats are sick. I dig the piano. The weird opera choir thing is a nice touch. Sweet ambience. I would've tweaked the panning on the trumpet/french horns so it had more of a call and response thing going on. They had a sweet LA Noire vibe though. Groovy beat.

B-RadGfromOV responds:

thanks. yeah that would add some more depth to the horns good idea

When the drums came in, I was expecting the crazy trap drums you usually do, along with some sick buzzing bassline or something. Instead I got some 90s sorta rave drums (I think?) which was pretty cool, but given the buildup I was really expecting to get my ears kicked in by SWAT teams or something. Dope melodies though. Really like the palette going on here -- the warm lush keyboard chords, and the voices, and the sparkly arpeggio sorta things.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

Thanks man. Drop kinda sucked, as you have pointed out, and I'm glad you agree. Wanted to bring the SWAT teams but haven't been able to lately for some reason. The palette and melody I was definitely surprised by, as well, as you've pointed out. It came out of nowhere for me.

I've got a new version, the latest on my channel. It's even wackier than this one, believe it or not. Really really strange, one of the strangest things I've ever done. Hopefully it's just a spiral going right, right right somewhere.

Thanks for the cool words about the warm lush keyboards and stuff. I really need to work on those drums. I should review a whole lot of your songs again. When it isn't 1am and I gotta go to work early tomorrow -_- Otherwise i would consider doing that right now

Aiight. THANKS :)

I had no prob with the bass at all. The drums are amazing. Really creepy atmosphere going on.

BOULLIE responds:

Okay so that's 1 for the bass

Thanks Phos!

I do music because I'm bored.
