Guitar with the 4-track is fun. Easy to be spontaneous.
It would be cool if I could lay down a bunch of tracks, and then grab them individually, but every time you hit the play button on the tape, it plays the tape sliiiiightly differently. At a sliiiiiightly different speed. Audio sync drift. The tempo fluctuates a bit. You'd have to chop it up to sync everything back up.
I suppose if I had one of those pimped out tape recorders with 4 separate output jacks, and one of those pimped out soundcards with 4 separate inputs, then I could play all 4 tracks at the same time and it would work.
But yeah. For throwing together a sketch, to see if a riff works, I definitely see the appeal of using these things.
