[No Te Quiero]

I love the slight detuning on some of the instruments, especially the synth providing the chords. The bass sounds badass (unnnngh). Whole thing is mad ethereal, drums are out there (pushed back, mad reverb), which is a solid choice. All the instruments you threw in here seem to work. The trumpet fits in pretty well. The vocals are cool, but the plink plink chord behind it's kinda strange. The piano line's kinda strange, too. But UNNNGH that atmosphere, man. This fucker's got MOOD. It's lush and shit.

Thanks man I was happy with how this one turned out. I was a little nervous going through it again and trying to make the guitar fit as best as it could, but I felt like without it it was missing something too so it was a tough call.

But this comment has helped my think about trying to set a mood or atmosphere when it comes to making a beat, so I'll try to keep that in mind from now on.

I'm a huge fan of when people play the unadulterated sample first and then chop it to pieces (I assume that's what's going on here). It's like when chefs pull the fish out, let it sit there on the cutting board for a second, and then chp chp chp chp chp chp turn chp chp chp chp chp dish. And that was a nasty chop.

Those freaking strings though (behind Barbra's voice) -- those strings must've been a bitch to EQ out. The voice goes fine, and the voice chops are dope, but the strings gotta turn Evans' beautiful chords into these horror movie stomps. Not much of a way around that, though, unfortunately.

Dig the bass and the occasional reversed snare (I love that shit).

But yeah, the strings were from Ain't no sunshine by bill withers if you care to know.

It wasn't too terrible to EQ if I remember actually, but yeah the nature of putting together different songs makes it so that sometimes they clash even when you try your best not to let them. I probably could've gone with picking some better strings, but oh well.

This is on some FlyLo shit, especially that vibraphone (unnnngh). I think a smoother bass would've complemented those chill ass keyboards a little better, but the buzzy thing you got here sounds pretty funky, too. I liiiiiiiiiiike it.

Got a huge Prefuse 73 vibe from this. One Word Extinguisher type shit. OH and there it is at 1:13. Right as I was typing this, holy shit. Man you read my mind don't you?

lol I basically mashed up a bunch of prefuse 73's shit into an interlude and put some profuse shit into it for shits and giggles. But yes, I've been gifted from the gods with super powers.

[Amoroso]

I like the string sample a lot (especially that first one) -- reminds me of Daedelus around 2005 or so. I think some of the string transitions are a little ragged/sudden, but they could probably be smoothed over with a little reverb or something.

Where did the vocals come from? Just curious. They fit in pretty well, giving off these Endtroducing vibe to the track.

I don't think the keyboard/chimes thing jives quite as well; it's got some weird notes (tone-wise and rhythmically). And in terms of mood, it doesn't quite fit, either. I don't know what to make of it.

The guitar/harp thing sounded GREAT. Really subtle, and it had some sweet texture to it.

I wasn't as much of a fan of the swingy arpeggio thing the flute was doing. The noites are fine; it's just that arpeggios are a weird thing for a flute to be doing, since flutes sustain the notes at such a high pitch for such a long time. Something with more decay (like a keyboard or a pingy sort of thing) might jive a little better.

(The 1:17 flute sounded great, though)

Overall, I thought it was very interesting to listen to. Definitely had that Shadow-esque hazy collage thing going on.

The vocals are from Chet Baker, Time After Time. I guess personally I liked how it turned out, although I do question the vibes that come in later now. If you've played Digimon World 3, it sort of gives me the same feeling as the music from the music at the Jungle Grave (don't ask why it just do.) Also the arpeggiating "flute" I believe was actually a vibe taken and fucked with a little bit.

But yeah solid review, I probably won't be changing the song because I don't want to go through the hassle of reuploading it everywhere, but I do like the play by play which will be useful when thinking in the future as I make music.

[Attack On Titans]

I liked the way the bass and kicks interacted. Especially that quick boom-boom-boom the kick would do in the middle of the pattern. The strings kinda creeped me out. Interesting track. I could definitely see it as some type of battle rap track. Very bombastic.

Whoa, this is really cool. Reminds me of the bonus disc on Doom's special herbs and spices (the instrumentals from the KMD album Black Bastards) -- the strings at 1:13 are killer.

I think the drums had some strange panning to them (it might just be in my head, though).

The bassline was great -- very subtle, but added those low frequencies needed to hold down the track. Very Jaylib -- The Red esque, but without the buzz.

This beat was great.

The drum thing was def in your head though lol. I didn't do any panning on it other than expanding them to sound a little "wider"

Very Hollywood. I could see it in a trailer. When the track gets busy, I don't think it would hurt to go mess with the EQ on the instruments, I think they might be crowding in some spots. But note-wise, I think it's solid.
