Oddly enough, the very first few seconds made me think of Futurama. That kinda leaned me into thinking "TV show" for the rest of the piece. It definitely seems like one of those opening titles kind of tracks for a "knights and dragons" type of show. Definitely sounds like you had fun making this. Oh, and I googled EWQL Symphony. 99 dollars?! You can sound that good for 99 dollars? If anyone finds a suitcase in the wild containing 200 grand, I hope it's you.

samulis responds:

Lol nah, that's the small version. I use Gold- it's about 200 or so.

The type of intro you heard is very common to many songs these days, cliche, if you will. I hear ya on the TV show thing... lol, I don't know why, but it sounds true to me, almost like a game show or something. XD

Thanks for listening! :)

The sample is beautiful, the way its chopped is bloody gorgeous. Really digging this track.

Fucking love when the drums come in at :34. The cool xylophone thing at 0:46 is also a nice touch. I think some of the things in the intro (bongo break, the other stuff) clashes a bit frequency-wise, but fuck it, it's got this cool My Bloody Valentine vibe to it. Then it goes all Boards of Canada on me and I dig the shit out of it. Has a real hypnotic quality to it.

BOULLIE responds:

Agh yeah I know what you mean on the frequency bit. I tried to make it swim, thanks for bumpiiiiiing!

That intro reminds me of Waka Flaka. Banging beat. I thought it was cool how you switched the snare sound around every couple bars. Funny lyrics, too. Good shit. (ps, new track on my page)

Totally reminds me of Pavement. Vocals are a bit loud though. Drums sound really good.

WeAreBlarg responds:

Thank you for your review. I will check out Pavement on youtube and yeah I will try to mix the vocals better next time.

So fucking lush. I liked the intro too, with the unrelated song as a kinda tease. My ears were getting lost in this.

TheGameReapa responds:

thanks man

On some Boards of Canada shit. Damn. Digging the bass. I think it's cool how the kick and bass are separate things, so they don't always hit at the same time. It's like there's phantom kicks in there, which opens things up rhythmically. Love the intro, and the transition into the beat. Snare's a touch loud, but that's it.

ThaKidd responds:

I wanna change the bassline. I got new vsts and drum kits so yup yup. thanks!

Good shit! Those soft synths kinda remind me of Bimmer, except here the drums go way harder. Digging it.

BOULLIE responds:

Many thanks Phosphorus homie

Vocals aren't bad. Backing track kinda sounds like Black Sabbath and Phil Colins in a blender for 20 minutes. That low-pitched voice at the start made me think this was an odd future beat at first. Lots of places this could go. I dig it.

IIPhase responds:

Coooool Thank you!

I really dig the vocals. Reminds me of the trailer for Lincoln. The intro was sick, I liked that squealy guitar thing. Nice work!

B-RadGfromOV responds:

Thanks, my man.

I do music because I'm bored.
