This is cool. I like the contrast between the high pitched vibraphone-esque chimy instruments and the really low-end bass stuff going on. The drum patterns are solid. The vocal samples work really well in this track. Detecting a kinda TNGHT influence on here (I remember once you told me to check out Hudson Mohawke and I think he was in that, right?). Groovy stuff, man.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

Yeah I wanted it to feel playful but somehow menacing at the same time. Thanks for the drum pattern feels. All of my stuff is influenced by HudMo jsyk and you're right TNGHT is fantastic. Thanks for your support you are literally awesome. U da boss.

Those vocal manipulations are great. The oohs are used really effectively (the chopping at 0:58 stands out, I really dug that part). And I love the drum programming going on here. Got a pretty big Clams vibe coming off this. Dig the ethereal textures and gritty sounding drum samples. Good shit!

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

Thanks. Those are my friend Nate's vocals. He did some of the processing, but the chopping at 0:58 is mine. Clams is awesome so that's a huge compliment you gave. Thanks for your reviews man, they brighten my day. I should review you more often. :I

I dig it -- the synth work has a huge mass effect 1 vibe to it (especially 0:35), and the drums sound really cool. I think a bassline during the verse parts would've been a great glue to hold the track together, but otherwise I dig it.

Zodiax responds:

Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you think its a solid track, and now that I'm listening to this again, I feel that I should have added in a baseline after all. I may go back and work one in later.

This is a fucking headnodder.

BOULLIE responds:

Damn u went deep lol

This is waaaay old

Got a huge FlyLo vibe from this. The really crunched up drums, the very cosmic synths and things. Except the bassline was really subtle, which was nice. Really liked the drums here. Dude, I always like your drums.

BOULLIE responds:

Ha maybe i'll send you some.

I still owe Dureagon some drums >.>

That thing at 1:25 was cool as hell -- the snares dropping out and the kick skipping along, and the synths branching out, playing more notes. And then that little soda can shake thing getting thrown in there too.

At 0:55, what kind of synth is that? It sounds really cool. Goes really well with the other Radiohead-sounding synthy thing that comes in around 1:16.

BOULLIE responds:

the joint at 55 is saw wave that has been perverted =p

Thanks for pickin it apart!

That juxtaposition of chiptune sounds and more organic orchestral sounds works really well. Cool harmonies, especially at 1:44. Killer arrangements.

Calamaistr responds:

Thank you.

Ugggh this is close to being amazing and making my speakers explode with joy -- it needs more bass. If it had a killer bassline, and the kick had more oomph to it, this track would ascend to a whole other plane. Everything else about it is phenemonal. Really cool textures, synth sounds, drum patterns, etc.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

Thanks man you're right i probably need more bass in there to oomph it up. Thanks for saying that my synth sounds and stuff are really cool that means a lot to me.

we need more of you in life <3

This is badass, dude. Really lush. I think the synth that comes in around 1:05 is the point where I think there's just a bit too much going on, especially the way it pans for attention. When the beat chills out a bit more, that wormy panning synth fits in a bit better. I fucking love the way the intro sounds. Normally, I try to visualize melodies as I'm listening to them, as like a contour or line, but with this it was hard since there were a ton of notes and they were all over the place rhythmically, so it forced me to listen to it more as a general vibe/mood instead. I really dug this track.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

thanks man your comment is very heartening i love your support... too much love for you brother

That thing at 0:26 -- got a mega Jaylib vibe from that. All those wacky blunted out synths. I dig the huge contrast those elements have with the laidback 80s vibe of the beat up until that point. Nice mix of hats. The jingly things at 1:40 ish were an interesting choice. Distinct vibe to the whole track.

BOULLIE responds:

i feel i need to make this one harder, THe things you were talking about at 1:40 got me like "wut was i thinking...."

I do music because I'm bored.
