I liked the way the bass and kicks interacted. Especially that quick boom-boom-boom the kick would do in the middle of the pattern. The strings kinda creeped me out. Interesting track. I could definitely see it as some type of battle rap track. Very bombastic.

Thank you !

The atmosphere of the track is great. The bass (especially that buzz it has when it switches notes) is my favorite thing about the track. The only thing I wasn't a total fan of was the drums. The drums sound like they'd fit better in a early 90s hip hop track, and this track seems more like a Portishead/Massive Attack kind of thing. It could use drums with real attitude. Maybe some reverb on the snare, too. Otherwise, I liked this track a lot. The rest of the instruments were fantastic. So many great layers to it.

Whoa, this is really cool. Reminds me of the bonus disc on Doom's special herbs and spices (the instrumentals from the KMD album Black Bastards) -- the strings at 1:13 are killer.

I think the drums had some strange panning to them (it might just be in my head, though).

The bassline was great -- very subtle, but added those low frequencies needed to hold down the track. Very Jaylib -- The Red esque, but without the buzz.

This beat was great.

putzpie responds:

Hell yeah man, that's what I like to hear.

The drum thing was def in your head though lol. I didn't do any panning on it other than expanding them to sound a little "wider"

It ended kinda abruptly, was it supposed to loop back at the end? I liked the guitar, and I think the fuzzy bass went well with it. I think there might be other drums better suited for the sound you have going here. The drums I heard sound like they'd go with a Dream Theater/proggy kind of band, and this is more of a subdued California kind of jam. I'd maybe try some brush drums or something crunchy. Spicy. Otherwise, I really dug this track.

Very Hollywood. I could see it in a trailer. When the track gets busy, I don't think it would hurt to go mess with the EQ on the instruments, I think they might be crowding in some spots. But note-wise, I think it's solid.

LunyAlex responds:

Aye, I'll definitely try to clean up the mix a bit more. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Dig the drums in that beat, especially them sproinky bongo beep boop things. You guys ever gonna do a track on the baneposters? Every time I go on /tv/ they're there, posting Aidan Gillen's face everywhere. Shit's relentless...

AnalogByNature responds:

baneposters is new to me.
fill me in, what's it all about & we'll figure something out.

Sounds like it came off Aesop's Labor Days. Really subdued. Snare got that crunch to it. I dig the bassline.

BOULLIE responds:

ttyy

That was badass.

SineRider responds:

Haha thanks man!

This is really cool. I dig the wah wah wah thing the chords are doing. The drum patterns are really cool, too. That thing at 1:22 was a surprising transition. The guitar fits in real well. Solid work.

Sounds like the ending of a Nolan film. If you were going for more of an ambient, zone-out while listening to it type of mood, I guess you could try messing with the EQ to take the edge off some of the harsher sounding synths in the mix, but I think it sounds pretty solid right now.

I like the way it ends. I could catch the last linger of that cool sounding note.

SineRider responds:

Thanks for the comments!

I agree, I left a lot of the harshness in there for effect, it's not really a straight ahead relaxing ambient piece. I may retool this one and fix some of the rough automation bits too. Specifically, the end is a bit abrupt

I do music because I'm bored.
