Awesome

That beat's cool - it sounds like a ghetto carnival or something. Nothing fades out or reverberates, it just punches in and out. That is extremely cool. Keep making stuff like that. Peace.

Dag, yo!

That sounds unique. The snares in the chorus almost sound like some kids went into a mic and started "ootz ootz ootz oohuuetz". Not that it's bad; it's original. The hi-hats were cool, too - sounds like every other hi-hat had a guitar riff layered over it. It's just so subliminal. And the bass sounds cool, too. In fact, the whole beat has this minimalist feel to it, like you only include what's necessary. I respect that. We haven't had a true minimalist band since 1979, and you might just be on your way to some new movement of crazy hip-hoppers. You are more than capable, too. Peace.

Not jazz, but jazz-y

Huh. I was listening to that, and thought of some introspective rapper discussing his/her life on this song, which is cool. The high-octave scales are a nice touch. One suggestion - tone down the volume on the hi-hats. I really want to hear those kick and snare sounds accentuated a little bit further; it would enhance the chill factor this song has. Other than that, though - it's pretty good. Peace.

It's okay

Ugh, I don't like the melody, really. It kinda sounds like you went into the step sequencer for FL Keys and just scribbled away. It doesn't really adhere to any key signatures that I know of, and it doesn't sound it, either. You should start from scratch and mess with the keys until you get a melody that sounds euphonic (pleasant to the ear; doesn't hurt to learn new words) and experiment with it to make it sound better. Mess with chords and intervals, too - it's like multiplying notes. Don't be discouraged; music is all about experimentation. It's like you're in a lab with a bunch of chemicals, mixing them together until something cool happens. Not like a cure for cancer, or something to solve world hunger - just something cool. Peace.

Love the BASS!

I love the bass; it just throbs like a healthy heart, or something. You also have nice percussion work and the synth sounds okay (I thought it sounded a little cheesy, but it is trance after all). Just tell me how you did the bass; I could really use a sound like that in my next song! Peace.

Dope

The guitar (or whatever it is) is cool. It sounds like you either sampled it off an old record, or actually played the guitar and put a ton of filters on it. And again, the drums are off the chain. It feels like I'm walking on some old rickety boardwalk, in the night, with ghosts all over the place, breakdancing or something. Can you imagine that? Like, one ghost brings out a boombox, and a cardboard mat, and then. . . ZERO G! I love this song. Peace.

Nice

I can't stress how much I love the drums - this is like a heavenly cross between "Building Steam with a Grain of Salt" and "Midnight in a Perfect World." So beautiful. So awesome. So. . . so DOPE! I just wish that you had more samples and texture in there; as soon as the opera samples come out, it's just drums. Maybe some bass, funk samples, make it work, you know? Peace.

I love this

This song has such a serene quality to it; the way the bass pops in and out, the way the drums stay through it all, the way the piano tries to contribute as much as it can, this song feels like a struggling family trying to stay through it all, keep its head above water. Not sure how it got 2.10, though - so I tried to fix that. Awesome song - keep it up!

Reminds me of Blade

Remember that opening scene of the movie Blade, where all the vampires are dancing in that nightclub? This song kinda reminds me of that, with its dark basslines and quick drums and stuff. Really cool. Also, the piano that comes in later on is extremely cool, and I love the kick sound you used (it literally sounds tight). Keep it up, man!

Anima-Theory responds:

I can't remember blade :(

But I'll take your word for it :P

Thanks man for the review

Interesting

The drums are cool, and the synths are also cool, but they don't quite gel. The drums should be for some grimy UK breakbeats or 2-step or something, whereas the synths should have some nice, clean sounding percussion that doesn't sound like it was abruptly cut off. Just mess with the drums and the synths, and you might get two distinct songs out of this one. Peace.

I do music because I'm bored.
